Basketball is a fast-paced and thrilling sport played between two teams of five players each. At Armed Forces Medical College, we have a fully equipped basketball court where cadets can hone their skills and enjoy the game. The objective of the game is simple: to score by shooting the ball into the opponent's hoop, all while preventing the other team from scoring. Players can dribble (bounce) or pass the ball, but they are not allowed to run while holding it.
The game is a dynamic display of speed, agility, and teamwork, making it an excellent sport for improving fitness and coordination. For our medical cadets, basketball offers more than just physical benefits. It helps sharpen reflexes, relieves the pressure of intense study sessions, and teaches valuable leadership and teamwork skills.
One of the highlights of our annual Sports Week is the inter-batch basketball tournaments, which are always among the most exciting events. The energy is electric, with batchmates cheering for their teams, and the skill and determination displayed by the players keep spectators on the edge of their seats. The intense competition and passionate performances make these matches a true spectacle, adding a sense of camaraderie and spirit to the event.
